Frequently asked questions

Everything about HeresNext: what it does, how it works, and what it doesn't.

About the product

What is HeresNext?

A web app that tracks the layers of protection on the things you buy: manufacturer warranties, retailer return windows, credit card extended warranty benefits, retailer perks (like Best Buy Elite bonuses or Apple's grace window), third-party plans, and a coverage analyzer. It reminds you before any window closes.

How is this different from a spreadsheet?

Two things. First, it scans receipts and remembers things for you without you teaching it. Second, it already knows the main credit cards' extended-warranty terms, so when you tell us which card paid, we map the benefit automatically. A spreadsheet does neither.

Does it work for businesses?

Not at launch. The first version is for individuals and households. A business tier may come later.

Is it available outside the US?

At launch, the policies and credit card data are US-focused. Anyone can sign up internationally, but the protection-mapping is most useful for US-based shoppers right now. International expansion comes later.

Do you file claims for me?

No — we provide guidance, not claim filing. We tell you which protection applies (card, retailer, manufacturer, or third-party plan), surface the relevant policy details, and walk you through the steps. You file directly with the protection provider.

What types of things can I track?

Anything you'd be sad to lose track of: electronics, appliances, furniture, tools, jewelry, clothing — any purchase where a return window, warranty, or card benefit might apply. You can also use it for personal dates you want to remember — anniversaries, license renewals, gift-return windows, anything with a "by when" attached. Categories where coverage value is highest (electronics, appliances, watches) get the same protection check as everything else.

How accurate is the credit card extended warranty information?

We provide extended-warranty information based on publicly available benefit terms and issuer documentation, and we regularly update our supported-card data when benefit terms change.

However, card issuers and payment networks may modify, limit, or discontinue benefits at any time, and eligibility may depend on specific purchase conditions, item category exclusions, documentation requirements, claim deadlines, and other terms that may not always be reflected immediately in our data.

The warranty information we display is provided for general reference only and does not guarantee coverage or claim approval. Before relying on any coverage information or filing a claim, always review your current card benefits guide and confirm eligibility directly with your card issuer or benefits administrator. Your card issuer and/or benefits administrator is the final authority on coverage and claim decisions.

About data and privacy

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell or share your data with anyone. The privacy policy is the binding version, but the short version is: we use your data to run the service for you, and that's it.

Do you have access to my credit cards?

We base your card warranty benefits on what you tell us you have (for example, "Chase Sapphire Reserve"). We never see card numbers, expiration dates, or CVVs. We never charge anything to those cards.

What happens if I delete my account?

30-day grace period (cancellable), then permanent deletion within 90 days, including from backups. Before deletion you can download a CSV of all your data.

Where is my data stored?

In a managed cloud database in the United States, encrypted at rest. Photo copies of receipts (Pro tier) are kept in encrypted storage. Details on the Security page.

About pricing

Is the Free tier really free?

Yes, permanently. It's not a trial. You can use it forever within the limits (25 purchases, 10 receipt scans per month).

How much is Pro?

See the Pricing page for current tiers and prices.

What's Founder's Lifetime?

A one-time payment for lifetime access to Pro features. Limited to the first supporters. Spots fill in order of payment when Lifetime opens at launch; the waitlist guarantees first notice, not a held spot.

Can I get a refund?

Pro Monthly: you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period. Pro Annual: prorated refund within 30 days. Founder's Lifetime: full refund within 30 days, 50% within 31 to 90 days, none after. See the Lifetime Addendum for the full terms.

Will my price ever change?

No — your lifetime price is locked in. Annual subscribers keep their current rate until renewal; new pricing applies at the next renewal.

About the launch

When does HeresNext launch?

Soon. I'd rather not commit to a date and miss it. Join the waitlist for the announcement.

Is there a beta?

Limited closed testing with a small group of users before public launch. Public access begins at launch with all paid tiers active.

Will there be an iPhone or Android app?

The web app works on mobile (it's installable to your home screen). Native iOS and Android apps come later.

What happens if HeresNext shuts down?

Lifetime members are protected by the Lifetime Plan Addendum — you receive a prorated refund based on a 24-month coverage period. Annual subscribers get a prorated refund for the unused portion of their subscription. All members can export their data at any time. See the Lifetime Addendum for full terms.
